Oneida Fourteen Piece Triple Rivet Knife Set

The Oneida Fourteen Piece Triple Rivet Knife Set is a very attractive set of knives. We have used these knives for about a month now, and there are many good things to say about them. Here are some of the reasons that we like them.

The Block

The knife block seems sturdy and easily fits on the counter. Each one of the knives is marked, so you know where to replace them. The black block is made from hardwood, and is heavy enough to stay wherever you place it. This saves a lot of room in the kitchen drawers.

Knives

The knives are heavier than our previous ones. They also feel like they are very well balanced. The blade portion runs all the way to the end of the pistol grip handle. They are secured by three stainless steel rivets in the handle. This makes them sturdier than knives that only run to the handle. It also may explain why they feel nicely balanced. The handles have an ergonomic design that makes them very comfortable to use. Here is what you get with this Oneida knife set.

- Six four and one half inch steak Knives
- Eight inch chef knife
- Eight inch carving knife
- Eight inch bread knife
- Seven inch Santoku knife
- Six inch boning knife
- Five inch utility knife
- Three inch paring knife
Knife Features

The blades of each knife are made from forged high-carbon 420 stainless steel. This helps them to keep a sharp edge for a long time. They are made with a full tang to give them very good balance. For extra strength, they are taper ground. You also get a lifetime warranty.

Personal Opinion

These knives are very easy to use. I am particularly fond of the Santoku knife, as it is excellent for chopping, cutting, or slicing. When I cut up fruit or vegetables, it is the only knife that I use.

It is best to wash your new knives as soon as you are done with them. This will keep them looking like new. However, you might wish to let them air dry before placing them back in the block. This will prevent any moisture from getting into the wood slots.

I am very satisfied with these knives, and would recommend them to anyone. They can be purchased online for about seventy dollars, even though the suggested retail is around one hundred dollars. I think these knives will last for many years to come. However, I plan to invest in a good quality steel to keep the edges straight. This will help them stay sharp longer. Also, I plan to get a new cutting board to go with our Oneida Fourteen Piece Triple Rivet Knife Set.
